OMC has started the preparatory activities in view of the fifth edition of the
Offshore Mediterranean Conference and Exhibition - OMC 2001 that will take place
in Ravenna- Italy on March 28-30,2001. OMC is now a regular fixture in the calendar of key events of interests to everyone in the oil and gas business worldwide.
To ensure continuity into the new millennium OMC has organised a one day Workshop on "HSE&Q and New Targets of E&P" scheduled in Ravenna on March 24th, 2000, followed by the annual OMC Golf Tournament on March 25th .
The workshop session will last from 10 am to 5 pm and will highlight Health, Safety, Environment and Quality issues of the oil and gas activity. OMC has already invited eminent speakers from the Italian Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Environment, experts from the major oil companies and contractors, from the OGP- the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers and from Auditing companies.

Further to this OMC has started an important co-operation with EGPC, the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation which is working at the organisation of MOC 2000 , the Mediterranean Offshore Conference.
The first edition of the MOC show, that will be held every two years alternating with the internationally reputed OMC in Ravenna, will take place in AIexandria - Egypt on April 18-20,2000.
The venue of MOC 2000 will be as unique as the event itself, as it will be held in Alexandria Conference Center next to the "Bibliotheca Alexandrina" , the revival of the ancient library of Alexandria, now scheduled for inauguration in the year 2000.

MOC 2000 conference will cover the fields of exploration, production,
environment, economics, marketing, supportive services and other topics relevant to the Oil industry.
The theme selected for the first edition of the conference is "New visions for a  new Millennium"
MOC 2000 exhibition is determined to offer exhibitors new chances to launch their
products and open up new export markets .
The ancient city of Alexandria, in the eastern Mediterranean and in the very heart of the Nile Delta has been identified as the ideal location for a show dealing with offshore exploration and production.
MOC-Alexandria, like its "twin", the OMC - Ravenna will hopefully continue to promote the transfer of expertise and foster a long-term co-operation between the producing countries, the energy demanding countries and the oil industry.
